UK Player Wins Share of £50 Million Euro Millions Rollover

The third largest UK Lottery Jackpot ever was claimed by a Euro Millions player from the UK this week. The lucky winner shared half of the triple rollover jackpot with one other player from Ireland.

Winning £24,951,269.40 each from the Euro Millions draw, both players suddenly find their lives transformed with life changing amounts of money.

A delighted Camelot spokeswoman was quoted as saying: "We are absolutely delighted that one UK ticket holder has scooped a £24.9 million share of this Euro millions jackpot alongside one ticket holder from Ireland. "We have plenty of champagne on ice and are looking forward to welcoming the lucky ticket holder to the National Lottery Millionaires club."

Having said that, at the time of writing this article, nobody had yet come forward to claim the Euro Millions prize!

The two lucky winners both matched all 5 main numbers and both lucky star numbers in this Friday’s EuroMillions draw which had not been done on any of the three previous draws, producing a rollover of almost £50 million.

They weren’t the only winners however, with 10 lucky players missing out on just 1 lucky star number and matching all the rest, giving them a very nice £248,468.20 each. Again, one player from the UK scooped the second prize.

There were plenty of other prizes up for grabs, right down to those who matched just 2 main numbers and one lucky star number, to provide them with a consolation prize of £6. I’m sure the winnings will be used to purchase a few more tickets for next week’s Euro Millions draw.

So a good week for the UK on EuroMillions, however we still have a way to go to beat the biggest ever UK lottery win which was claimed in August 2007, by Angela Kelly from Scotland, scooping a massive £35.4 million.

As with any lottery, the chances are slim, BUT anyone can win. Nobody knows which numbers will come up and everyone has an equal chance. Unless of course, you play through an eLottery Syndicate which gives you 36X better chance of winning over those who play conventionally!
